What is Azzalure® Botulinum?

Azzalure® Botulinum is designed to treat deep frown lines that appear between the eyebrows. This treatment can enhance facial appearance, making you look more approachable and less stressed. By improving your overall expression, Azzalure® can boost self-confidence and positively impact how you feel about your appearance.

How Does Azzalure® Botulinum Work?

Azzalure® contains botulinum toxin type A, derived from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. This toxin blocks nerve signals that cause muscle contractions. By inhibiting these signals, Azzalure® relaxes the muscles between the eyebrows, reducing the appearance of vertical frown lines. The effects are temporary, typically lasting up to four months, with treatments recommended every three months for continued results.

When Will Results Be Visible?

You should start to see results within 3 days of treatment.

How Long Do Results Last?

  • Inflammation at the injection site
  • Extremely weak muscles at the injection site
  • Hemophilia (a blood clotting disorder)
  • Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)
  • Aspiration (food entering the airways)
  • Neuromuscular disorders (e.g., motor neuropathy)
  • Ongoing surgery or head/chest injuries

Who Should Avoid Using Azzalure® Botulinum?

Are There Any Side Effects?

Possible side effects of Azzalure® include:

  • Common: Redness, bruising, headaches, and a pins-and-needles sensation at the injection site.
  • Less Common: Eye pain, muscle twitching, eyelid swelling, dry or watery eyes.
  • Rare: Dizziness, itchiness, double vision, facial swelling, and problems with eye movements.

If you experience severe symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, breathing issues, or trouble speaking, seek medical attention immediately. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience dizziness, blurry vision, or muscle weakness.

Overuse of Azzalure® may lead to antibody development, reducing its effectiveness. It's advisable to wait at least three months between treatments. Additionally, Azzalure® contains albumin from human blood, which carries a potential risk of viral infection.
